What do the students think?
I’d been trying for the past six months to find information similar to that available in our online class, and to little avail. It's been amazing to have such a comprehensive set of information and know that it's from the best folks
Shaina Boone,

I wanted to reach out to thank the DAA leadership, particularly those that shaped the education program with the UBC and the certification program, for helping me change my career-- and frankly—my life. In 2009 I was working as a web analyst at a leading internet company, where I had been for almost 10 years. I will always be grateful for what I learned there and the people I worked with, but it was time for a change and I wasn't sure where to go next. I did have some flexibility in my work schedule --which I didn't want to give up -- so taking a new full-time job didn't have much appeal. However, I had no idea how – or the confidence – to take the skills I had out on the market.
Thanks to the DAA/UBC courses, as well as attending an eMetrics conference, I gained confidence that the experience I had was transferable and I could see the opportunities in the industry. I signed up to 'test the test' for the DAA certification at eMetrics, took it cold, and was surprised and pleased to learn that I had scored quite well. By meeting other web analysts and starting to network, I realized that we shared most of the same challenges and frustrations.
Late last spring, I decided to branch out on my own as a freelancer and I haven't looked back yet. I've had the opportunity to learn new tools and work in new industries. I have more control over my workload, and even in my first six months in business I completely replaced my former salary. I work from home and meet my children at the bus stop 3 days a week. I never would have had the confidence to do this without the structure you established through the DAA.
With much thanks!
